Stonebwoy tops the Telecel Ghana Music Awards with 14 nominations

The complete list of nominees for the 25th annual Ghana Music Awards has been released and has Stonebwoy as the top nominee with fourteen nominations.
The nominations for the Ghanaian reggae, dancehall, and Afropop artist are a result of an exceptional year, marked by the release of significant crossover hits, an album, remarkable music videos, and headlining tours both internationally and locally. His sold-out shows spanned America, Europe, the UK, and Ghana. Additionally, he has been committed to leading transformative charity work in underprivileged communities throughout the nation.
Stonebwoy has received nominations across multiple categories, including the prestigious Artiste of the Year, as well as coveted titles like Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year and Best Songwriter of the Year.
His groundbreaking 2023 album ‘5th Dimension’ is nominated for Best Album/EP of the Year. The track ‘Into The Future’ has earned three nominations: Best Music Video, Most Popular Song of the Year, and Best Afropop Song. ‘Mandozi’, a collaboration with the renowned Afropop artist Angelique Kidjo, has received nominations for Best Highlife Song, Best International Collaboration of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Music Video of the Year. Additionally, ‘Non-Stop’ is contending for Best Reggae/Dancehall Song.
Moreover, his collaborations with KiDi on ‘Likor’ and with Fameye on the ‘Not God’ Remix have earned nominations for Collaboration of the Year and Best Afropop Song, respectively. These accolades highlight Stonebwoy’s significant impact on Ghana’s modern music landscape.

Stonebwoy, whose real name is Livingstone Etse Satekla, is well-acquainted with success at the Ghana Music Awards. As the recipient of the Artiste of the Year award in 2015, and has earned accolades such as the Vodafone Green Award and Music for Good Award, he also holds the record for the most Reggae & Dancehall Artiste of the Year wins (7) by a Ghanaian artist.
The awards, previously known as the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), have been renamed the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) after the Teleco was announced as the new main sponsor. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the awards program highlights and honors the exceptional musical accomplishments of Ghanaian artists across genres such as highlife, hiplife, Afropop, and traditional music.
The ceremony for the awards presentation will be broadcast live on TV3 on the 1st of June, 2024.
