A pregnant woman and a minor were crushed to death by a truck on the Abeokuta-Ibadan expressway in Ogun State on Friday.
According to our source, the cement-laden truck lost control and crashed into a building, killing two people and injuring four others. A DAF truck with the registration number BDJ 112 XF was involved in the accident.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, a spokesman for the state Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, confirmed the accident to journalists in Abeokuta.
Akinbiyi stated that the truck was on its way from Ewekoro to Ibadan when the driver lost control and crashed into the building.
Akinbiyi blamed the accident on speeding, which caused the driver to lose control and slam into the building.

“Corpses of the pregnant woman and minor; male have been deposited at the Odeda General Hospital morgue, while the remaining accident victims were rescued to Ajitola Hospital at Kila for medical treatment.
There was a deployment of more policemen to calm the situation because of the angry villagers.
This accident is a sad and unfortunate one against the backdrop of reported crashes that happened back-to-back for the past three days across the state. The dead victims in this unfortunate incident were occupants of the building.”
